Melissa Guzik, MA, CCC

Melissa Guzik is a Canadian Certified Counselor through the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association and has a Master of Arts degree in Counselling Psychology from McGill University. She also has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Psychology, Sociology, and Behavioural Science from McGill University. Melissa works individually with adults and adolescents, with couples, and in group therapy settings. Melissa was the founding president of the Catholic Psychotherapy Association of Canada. Melissa serves different parishes and the Edmonton Archdiocese in assisting couples to prepare for marriage. She is an experienced FOCCUS (Facilitating Open Couple Communication Understanding and Study), REFOCCUS , and Prepare-Enrich Facilitator, working with couples before and after they are married to foster open communication in all areas of their relationships. Melissa provides individual and group counselling for the spouses of sexual addicts. Melissa is also trained to work with those suffering from couple or family conflict, communication difficulties, personal growth, life transitions, substance abuse, sexual addictions, child‐bearing loss, and post‐abortion healing. Melissa has been married for over ten years and has been blessed with four children.

Jean Mackenzie, MA, CCC                                 

Jean MacKenzie has a Master of Arts in Counselling from the Franciscan University of Steubenville. She is a member of the Catholic Psychotherapy Association, The Canadian Counselling Association, and The Saint Michael Institute, which is an international alliance of mental health professionals who integrate the genuine discoveries of Psychology and Psychiatry with the teachings of the Catholic Church. Jean is a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) in Edmonton, Alberta. Jean also is a marriage counsellor and couples therapist who helps couples resolve their conflicts and differences so they can develop more harmonious relationships. Jean has been in private practice for seven years, and her focus has been on working in harmony with the Catholic faith to help couples have a marriage that is pleasing to them and to God. Jean is an active member of her parish and community and has been happily married for eleven years. She is a proud military wife and mother of six beautiful children.
